Act 3: “I Fell Asleep Beneath the Flowers”

What do you wish were true?
The magic inside to come out and play.
I don’t like that kind of magic.
I don’t get that kind of magic.

What do you wish were true?
Their words be for the deaf.
For they’ve never seen this kind of beauty.
Blooms on the bank aren’t black and white.

I fell asleep beneath the flowers.
That’s where it all made sense.
I kept it there, deep below the bed.
Warmed by the earth and safe from marks.

What do you wish were true?
The magic to be nourished by the sun.
In plain sight for everyone.
But, they might not like that kind of magic.

Safer not to risk that kind of magic.
So back down below it goes.
Azure blooms giving way to grays.
To fall asleep again beneath the flowers.
